Business industry codes are a series of numbers encoded to represent a specific business industry. This group includes: The process of processing various types of metal and non-metal scraps and waste into secondary raw materials for various purposes. The processing uses mechanical or chemical techniques. This includes recycling materials from waste in the form of sorting and separating recyclable materials from non-hazardous waste (such as kitchen waste) or sorting and separating recyclable materials in mixed form, such as paper, plastic, used beverage containers, and metals into separate categories.

Excludes:

– Manufacture of new finished products from secondary raw materials (self-produced or not) such as manufacturing yarn from waste cotton, making pulp from paper, waste paper, retreading tires or manufacturing metal from metal scraps are classified into corresponding groups in Industry C (Manufacturing Industry);

– Reprocessing of nuclear fuel is classified under group 2011 (Manufacture of basic chemicals);

– Remelting of iron scraps and iron fragments is classified under group 24100 (Manufacture of iron, steel, and cast iron);

– Remelting of plastic to produce pellets or compounds is classified under group 2013 (Manufacture of plastics and synthetic rubber in primary forms);

– Treatment and disposal of non-hazardous waste is classified under group 3821 (Treatment and disposal of non-hazardous waste);

– Treatment of organic waste for disposal is classified under group 3821 (Treatment and disposal of non-hazardous waste);

– Energy recovery from the incineration of non-hazardous waste is classified under group 3821 (Treatment and disposal of non-hazardous waste);

– Disposal of used goods such as refrigerators to prevent harmful waste is classified under group 3822 (Treatment and disposal of hazardous waste);

– Treatment and disposal of radioactive waste in a transitional state from hospitals is classified under group 3822 (Treatment and disposal of hazardous waste);

– Treatment and disposal of toxic waste, polluting waste is classified under group 3822 (Treatment and disposal of hazardous waste);

– Dismantling of automobiles, computers, televisions, and other equipment to collect and resell usable parts is classified under Industry G (Wholesale and Retail Trade);

– Wholesale of recyclable materials is classified under group 4679 (Other specialized wholesale not elsewhere classified).

38301: Recycling of metal scraps and waste

This group includes:

– Mechanical crushing of metal waste such as discarded automobiles, washing machines, bicycles, etc., followed by sorting and separation;

– Dismantling of automobiles, computers, televisions, and other equipment for material recycling;

– Reducing large metal plates such as railway carriages;

– Shredding metal waste, such as unusable vehicles;

– Other mechanical processing methods such as cutting, compressing to reduce volume;

– Ship breaking.

38302: Recycling of non-metal scraps and waste

This group includes:

– Recycling of non-metal photographic waste, e.g., developing solutions or photographic film and paper;

– Recycling of rubber such as used tires to produce secondary raw materials;

– Sorting and aggregating plastic to produce secondary raw materials such as pipes, flowerpots, color boards, and similar items;

– Processing (cleaning, melting, grinding) plastic or rubber waste to grind into small pellets;

– Processing bottom ash from incinerators into secondary raw materials (metals, aggregates);

– Crushing, cleaning, and sorting glass;

– Crushing, cleaning, and sorting other waste such as rubble waste to produce secondary raw materials;

– Processing used cooking oil and grease into secondary raw materials;

– Processing food, beverage, tobacco, and residual waste into secondary raw materials.

– For conditional business lines stipulated in other legal documents, the business lines shall be recorded according to the regulations in those legal documents.
