1. What is a Business Line Code?

Business line code is a sequence of numbers encoded to represent a specific business line. Organizations and individuals, when preparing business registration documents, must use this business line code table for registration. Level 4 industry codes (with 4 digits) are used for business registration.

The Vietnam Standard Industrial Classification (VSIC), issued under Decision 36/2025/QD-TTg, has a hierarchical structure comprising 5 levels, from general to specific:

2. Regulations on Industry Code 2013 Manufacture of plastics and synthetic rubber in primary forms

This group includes: Manufacture of resins, plastic materials and non-vulcanizable thermoplastic elastomers, mixtures and blend resins by conventional methods, as well as manufacture of non-customized synthetic resins.

Excludes:

– Manufacture of artificial and synthetic fibers and threads is classified under group 20300 (Manufacture of artificial fibers);

– Processing of washing, chopping, crushing, and melting plastic waste is classified under group 3830 (Recycling of scrap materials);

– Pressing plastic pellets to produce secondary raw materials used for pipes, flower pots, shelving, and similar products is classified under group 3830 (Recycling of scrap materials);

– Sorting, cleaning, shredding, crushing, and pressing rubber waste pellets is classified under group 3830 (Recycling of scrap materials).

This group includes:

– Manufacture of plastics in primary forms:

+ Polymers, including synthetic polymers from ethylene, propylene, styrene, vinyl chloride, vinyl acetate and acrylic acid,

+ Polyamides,

+ Epoxy, phenolic and polyurethane resins,

+ Alkyd, polyester and polyether resins,

+ Silicones,

+ Ion-exchangers based on polymers.

– Manufacture of plastic powders, granules or flakes by compounding or recycling synthetic plastics from recovered plastic waste;

– Manufacture of recycled plastics by separating or pressing plastic waste that has been pre-processed at material recovery facilities;

– Re-melting plastics for recycling into granules or compounds.

20132: Manufacture of synthetic rubber in primary forms

This group includes:

– Manufacture of synthetic rubber in primary forms:

+ Synthetic rubber,

+ Artificial rubber.

– Manufacture of mixtures of synthetic and natural rubber or rubber-like adhesives (e.g. tree resin used as an insulating material).

This group also includes: Manufacture of cellulose and its chemical derivatives.

– When registering for business establishment, when notifying changes to business lines, or when requesting a change to the Enterprise Registration Certificate, the business founder or enterprise selects a four-digit economic sector from the Vietnam Standard Industrial Classification System to record the business line in the enterprise registration application. The business registration authority guides, verifies, and records the enterprise’s business lines in the National Database on Enterprise Registration.

– For conditional business investment lines regulated in other legal normative documents, the business line shall be recorded according to the sector specified in those legal normative documents.
