1. What is a business industry code?

Business industry codes are a series of numbers encoded to represent a specific business industry. Organizations and individuals, when preparing business registration documents, must use this business industry code table for registration. Level 4 industry codes (with 4 digits) are used for business registration.

The Vietnam Standard Industrial Classification (VSIC) system, issued under Decision 36/2025/QD-TTg, has a hierarchical structure with 5 levels, from general to detailed:

2. Regulations on Industry Code 1820 Duplication of Recorded Media

This group includes:

– Reproduction of gramophone records, compact discs, and tapes from master copies;

– Reproduction of magnetic tapes, video tapes, and video publications from master copies;

– Reproduction of software and data onto discs, tapes from master copies.

Exclusions:

– Reproduction of printed matter is classified under group 18110 (Printing);

– Publishing of software is classified under group 582 (Software publishing);

– Production, post-production activities, and distribution of motion pictures, video discs, and films on DVD or similar media are classified under groups 5911 (Motion picture, video, and television programme production activities), 5912 (Motion picture, video, and television programme post-production activities), 5913 (Motion picture, video, and television programme distribution activities);

– Production of original sound recordings or other audio materials is classified under group 59130 (Motion picture, video, and television programme distribution activities);

– Reproduction of motion pictures for distribution to cinemas is classified under group 59200 (Sound recording and music publishing activities).

3. Suggestions for recording Industry Code 1820 Duplication of Recorded Media

– When registering a business establishment, when notifying changes to business lines, or when requesting a change to the Enterprise Registration Certificate, the enterprise founder or the enterprise selects the fourth-level economic activity in the Vietnam Standard Industrial Classification to record the business lines in the enterprise registration application. The business registration authority guides, compares, and records the enterprise’s business lines in the National Business Registration Database.

– For conditional business lines stipulated in other legal normative documents, the business lines shall be recorded according to the provisions in those legal normative documents.
