1. What is a business industry code?

Business industry codes are a series of numbers coded to represent a specific business industry. Organizations and individuals, when preparing business registration documents, must use this business industry code list for registration. The 4-digit industry code (level 4) is the code used for business registration.

The Vietnam Standard Industrial Classification (VSIC) system, issued under Decision 36/2025/QD-TTg, has a hierarchical structure with 5 levels, from general to specific:

2. Regulations on Industry Code 1079: Manufacture of other food products n.e.c.

This group includes:

– Manufacture of soups and broths;

– Manufacture of special foods such as: Nutritious foods, nutritional milk and foods, infant formula, baby food, foods with homogeneous ingredients, etc.;

– Manufacture of condiments, sauces, and dressings such as mayonnaise, mustard powder and mustard;

– Manufacture of vinegar;

– Manufacture of artificial honey and caramel coloring (caramel sauce, caramelized sugar, dark sugar);

– Manufacture of perishable prepared foods such as: Sandwiches, fresh pizzas.

This group also includes:

– Manufacture of probiotics;

– Manufacture of infusions, teas, herbal decoctions (mint, verbena, chamomile, etc.);

– Manufacture of brewer’s yeast;

– Manufacture of meat, fish, shrimp, crab, mollusc extracts and juices;

– Manufacture of non-dairy milk and cheese substitutes;

– Manufacture of egg products, egg albumin;

– Processing of salt into food-grade salt, including iodized salt;

– Manufacture of artificial concentrates;

– Preliminary processing, cleaning, drying of swallow’s nests;

Excludes:

– Growing of spices is classified under group 0128 (Cultivation of perennial spice, medicinal and aromatic plants);

– Manufacture of inulin is classified under group 10620 (Manufacture of starch and starch products);

– Manufacture of perishable prepared fruit and vegetable foods such as: salads, cut or peeled vegetables, frozen beans is classified under group 10309 (Processing and preserving of fruits and vegetables n.e.c.);

– Manufacture of frozen pizza is classified under group 10759 (Manufacture of other prepared meals and dishes);

– Manufacture of tea, coffee, and mate products is classified under groups 1076 (Manufacture of tea), 1077 (Coffee production);

– Manufacture of spirits, beer, wine and soft drinks is classified under division 11 (Manufacture of beverages);

– Manufacture of plant products for pharmaceutical use is classified under group 2100 (Manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations).

3. Suggested ways to record Industry Code 1079: Manufacture of other food products n.e.c.

– When registering a new company, notifying changes to business lines, or requesting a change to the Enterprise Registration Certificate, the company founder or the enterprise selects the four-digit economic sector in the Vietnam Standard Industrial Classification to record the business line in the enterprise registration application. The business registration authority guides, cross-checks, and records the enterprise’s business lines in the National Enterprise Registration Database.

– For conditional business lines specified in other legal normative documents, the business line must be recorded according to the provisions of those legal normative documents.
