1. Effects of danger and warning signs
Danger and warning signs are used to inform traffic participants of the nature of the danger or of things that need attention and precautions on the road. When encountering danger and warning signs, traffic participants must slow down to the necessary level, pay attention and be prepared to handle situations that may arise to prevent accidents.

The meaning of each sign is explained in detail in Appendix C National Technical Regulation QCVN 41:2019/BGTVT on Road Signs
3. Size, shape and color of danger signs
Danger or warning signs are mainly in the shape of an equilateral triangle with three rounded peaks; one edge is horizontal, the corresponding peak points up, except for license plate W.208 “Intersection with priority road” where the corresponding peak points down.
The specific sizes of drawings and colors are specified in detail in Appendix C and Articles 16 and 17 of National Technical Regulation QCVN 41:2019/BGTVT on Road Signs
4. Location of danger and warning signs according to travel direction and effectiveness of the signs
– Danger and warning signs are placed in front of the intended location at a suitable distance from vehicles participating in traffic and the reality of the scene to ensure easy observation and not affect visibility.
– The distance from the sea to the intended location should be uniform across the entire road with the same average vehicle speed. In cases of special necessity, the sign can be placed farther or closer. It is necessary to have additional sign number S.502 “Distance to signaling object”.
– License plate W.208 “Intersection with priority road”: in densely populated areas, place it directly in front of the intersection with priority roads, outside of densely populated areas, depending on the distance, place it far or near the intersection location. separate from the priority road with additional sign number S.502.
– Each type of sign signals a dangerous element that can occur in a location or road section. If dangerous factors occur on a road section, place auxiliary plate number S.501 “Scope of effect of the sign” to clearly indicate the length of the dangerous road section below plates numbered W.202 (a,b), W.219, W.220, W.221a, W.225, W.228, W.231, W.232. If the length has the same major dangerous factor, place a repeat sign with additional sign No. S.501 recording the length of the remaining dangerous factor next.
– Limit the use of dangerous signs and widespread warnings if the properties do not really pose a danger participants traffic.
– Within speed-restricted roads:
+ In case a dangerous turning point has a sign limiting the maximum speed to less than or equal to 40 km/h, it is not necessary to place a dangerous turning sign (number plate W.201 (a,b) and number plate W. 202 (a,b);
+ In case the road is bad, slippery, or uneven, if a sign restricting the maximum speed to less than 50 km/h is placed, there is no need to place a sign about the uneven or slippery road (plate number W.221 (a, b) and license plate number W.222a);
+ Roads in densely populated areas, with slow vehicle speeds and continuous intersections at intersections, do not necessarily have license plates W.205 (a, b, c, d, e) “Intersection road together”.
– At places where the priority road intersects with other roads that are not considered intersections according to the provisions of this Regulation, it is not necessary to place signs W.207 and W.208. However, it is possible to use these signs or use sagging-eye markings when deemed necessary.
