Decree No. 122/2021/ND-CP dated December 28, 2021 on penalties for administrative violations against regulations on planning and investment comes into force from January 01, 2022 and supersedes the Government’s Decree No. 50/2016/ND-CP dated June 01, 2016 on penalties for administrative violations against regulations on planning and investment.

Law on Fire prevention and fighting of Vietnam 2001 takes effect as from October 4, 2001.

The Vietnam Maritime Code of 2015 shall enter into force from January 7, 2017.

The Ordinance on Inheritance was passed by the State Council of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on August 30, 1990.

Circular No. 08/2023/TT-BVHTTDL dated June 02, 2023 on forms used in registration of copyright, related rights comes into force from July 15, 2023.

Construction Law of Vietnam 2014 shall take effect on January 1, 2015.

Commercial Law of Vietnam 2005 – Law No. 36/2005/QH11 takes effect on January 1, 2006. This Law replaces the Commercial Law of May 10, 1997.

Law on Urban Planning of Vietnam 2009 – Law No. 30/2009/QH12 takes effect on January 1, 2010.

The most recent Law on Intellectual Property currently in effect is the Law on Intellectual Property 2005, which has been amended and supplemented by the following laws:

The 14th National Assembly passed the Law on Investment of Vietnam 2020 on June 17, 2020, which took effect on January 1, 2021, officially replacing the Investment Law 2014.

The Law on Enterprises of Vietnam 2020 (Law No. 59/2020/QH14) took effect on January 1, 2021, replacing the previous Law on Enterprises 2014.

The Land Law of Vietnam 2024 (Law No. 31/2024/QH15) will take effect on August 1, 2024, replacing the previous Land Law 2013.

The Law on Marriage and Family of Vietnam 2014 was officially passed and will take effect from January 1, 2015, replacing the Law on Marriage and Family of Vietnam 2000.

The Criminal Procedure Code of Vietnam 2015 (Law No. 101/2015/QH13) took effect on January 1, 2018, replacing the previous Criminal Procedure Code of Vietnam 2003.

The Civil Procedure Code of Vietnam 2015 (Law No. 92/2015/QH13) took effect on July 1, 2016, replacing the previous Civil Procedure Code of 2004.

Circular No. 11/2011/TT-NHNN of April 29, 2011 providing for termination of gold deposit mobilization and gold lending of the credit institutions shall be effective from 01 May 2011.

Decision No. 94/2008/QD-BTC of October 29, 2008, amending export duty rate in the export tariff list applicable to petroleum and oils extracted from bituminous minerals in crude form

Circular No. 40/2009/TT-BXD of December 09, 2009, on application of foreign construction standards to construction activities in Vietnam takes effect on February 1, 2010.

Decree No. 38/2010/ND-CP of Apirl 07, 2010, on management of urban space, architecture and landscapes takes effect on May 25. 2010.

Circular No. 09/2011/TT-BXD of June 28, 2011, guiding contract form of work construction takes effect from 15/08/2011

Circular No. 167/2009/TT-BTC of August 19, 2009, providing for the collection, remittance and use management of fees in the construction domain

Law on Chemicals of Vietnam 2007 takes effect on July 1, 2008.

Decision No. 254/QD-TTg of March 01, 2012, approving the project on “restructuring the system of credit institutions during 2011 – 2015” takes effect from the day on which it is signed.

Circular No. 06/2011/TT-BYT of January 25, 2011 providing cosmetic management takes effect from April 1, 2011.

Decision No. 21/2009/QD-TTg of February 12, 2009, on electricity sale prices in 2009 and during 2010-2012 under the market mechanism takes effect on February 12, 2009.

The Labor Code 2019 (Law No. 45/2019/QH14) will take effect from January 1, 2021, replacing the previous Labor Code of 2012.

The Criminal Code of Vietnam 2015 (Law No. 100/2015/QH13), amended in 2017, came into effect on July 1, 2018, replacing the previous Criminal Code of 1999.

The Civil Code of Vietnam 2015 (Law No. 91/2015/QH13) came into effect on January 1, 2017, replacing the previous 2005 Civil Code.

Decree No. 71/2012/ND-CP of September 19, 2012, amendments and supplements to a number of articles of Decree No.34/2010/ND-CP of April 02, 2010 of the Government defining administrative sanctions in the field of road transport takes effect from November 10, 2012.
