1. What is an industry business code?

Industry business code is a series of numbers encoded to represent a specific business industry. Organizations and individuals, when preparing business registration documents, must use this industry business code list to register. A 4-digit industry code (level 4) is the code used for business registration.

2. Regulations on Industry Code 3520 Manufacture of gas; distribution of gaseous fuels through mains

This group includes:

– Manufacture of gas, storage and distribution of natural or synthetic gas to final consumers through a main pipeline system;

– Activities of providing separate gas through gas pipelines, mainly long distances, connecting producers with gas distributors or between urban and rural areas are classified under pipeline transport activities.

Excludes:

– Extraction of natural gas is classified under group 06200 (Natural gas extraction);

– Activities of gas intermediaries or agents arranging the sale of gas through distribution systems operated by others are classified under group 35400 (Activities of electricity and gas intermediaries or agents).

– Activities of coke ovens are classified under group 19100 (Manufacture of coke);

– Manufacture of refined petroleum products is classified under group 19200 (Manufacture of refined petroleum products; manufacture of fossil fuel products);

– Manufacture of industrial gases is classified under group 20111 (Manufacture of industrial gases);

– Wholesale of gaseous fuels is classified under group 4671 (Wholesale of solid, liquid, gaseous fuels and related products);

– Retail of bottled gas is classified under group 4773 (Retail sale of other new goods (except automobiles, motorcycles, mopeds and their parts));

– Direct sale of fuel is classified under group 47300 (Retail sale of automotive fuel) and group 4773 (Retail sale of other new goods (except automobiles, motorcycles, mopeds and their parts));

– Transport of gas through pipelines (long-distance), i.e., not through a distribution network, is classified under group 49400 (Pipeline transport).

– Activities of providing separate gas through gas pipelines, mainly long distances, connecting producers with gas distributors or between urban and rural areas are classified under pipeline transport activities.

35201: Manufacture of gas

This group includes:

– Manufacture of gas for gas supply purposes from coal, agricultural waste, or refuse;

– Manufacture of gaseous fuels with special calorific value from refining, blending, and other production processes of various gases, including natural gas.

Excludes:

– Manufacture of basic organic gases, not used for energy supply through networks, is classified under group 2011 (Manufacture of basic chemicals);

– Manufacture of blast furnace gas is classified under group 24100 (Manufacture of iron, steel, and cast iron);

– Manufacture of landfill gas by-products is classified under group 382 (Waste treatment and disposal).

35202: Distribution of gaseous fuels through mains

This group includes:

– Transport, distribution, and supply of various gaseous fuels through a main pipeline system;

– Gas storage and storage services, such as selling natural gas storage capacity….

– Sale of gas to users through main pipelines;

– Trading of gaseous fuels and gaseous fuel transport capacity, except through intermediaries.

Excludes:

– Activities of coke ovens are classified under group 19100 (Manufacture of coke);

– Manufacture of refined petroleum products and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is classified under group 19200 (Manufacture of refined petroleum products; manufacture of fossil fuel products);

– Manufacture of industrial gases is classified under group 20111 (Manufacture of industrial gases);

– Wholesale of bottled gaseous fuels is classified under group 4671 (Wholesale of solid, liquid, gaseous fuels and related products);

– Retail sale of gaseous fuels for motor vehicles and motorcycles is classified under group 47300 (Retail sale of automotive fuel);

– Retail sale of household heating fuels and bottled gaseous fuels is classified under group 4773 (Retail sale of other new goods (except automobiles, motorcycles, mopeds and their parts));

– Transport of gas through pipelines (long-distance), i.e., not through a distribution network, is classified under group 49400 (Pipeline transport).

3. Suggested way to record Industry Code 3520 Manufacture of gas; distribution of gaseous fuels through mains

– When registering for business establishment, when notifying changes to business lines, or when requesting a change to a Business Registration Certificate, the enterprise founder or enterprise selects a four-digit economic industry code from the Vietnam Standard Industrial Classification system to record business lines in the enterprise registration dossier.
