1. What is a Business Industry Code?

Business industry codes are a series of numbers encoded to represent a specific business industry. Organizations and individuals, when preparing business registration documents, must use this business industry code table for registration. A 4-digit industry code (level 4) is the code used for business registration.

– Packaging of pharmaceutical products is classified under group 82920 (Packaging services);

– Manufacture of dental filling materials, manufacture of dental cement is classified under group 32501 (Manufacture of medical and dental instruments and supplies);

– Research and development in pharmacy and biotechnology is classified under group 721 (Research and experimental development in natural sciences and engineering).

21001: Manufacture of various types of pharmaceuticals

This group includes:

– Manufacture of pharmaceuticals such as:

+ Sera and blood components.

+ Vaccines,

+ Other medicines, including homeopathic remedies.

– Manufacture of oral and implantable contraceptives;

– Manufacture of diagnostic agents, including pregnancy tests:

– Manufacture of radioactive diagnostic agents;

– Manufacture of biotechnological pharmaceuticals.

21002: Manufacture of medicinal chemical products and medicinal materials

This group includes:

– Manufacture of active pharmaceutical substances used for medicinal materials in pharmaceutical manufacturing: Antibiotics, basic vitamins, salicylic and O-acetylsalicylic acids, etc.

– Manufacture of medicinal chemical products.

This group also includes:

– Manufacture of refined chemical sugars;

– Processing of glands and manufacture of gland extracts;

– Manufacture of medical bandages, medicated cotton, biological lead, dressings, etc.;

– Manufacture of biological products for medicinal use (grinding, pulverizing, etc.).

3. Suggestions for recording Industry Code 2100 Manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products, pharmaceutical preparations and medicinal chemical products

– When registering for enterprise establishment, when notifying changes to business lines, or when requesting a change to the Enterprise Registration Certificate, the enterprise founder or enterprise selects a level-four economic industry in the Vietnam Standard Industrial Classification System to record the business line in the enterprise registration dossier.
