1. What is an industry business code?

An industry business code is a sequence of numbers encoded to represent a specific business line. Organizations and individuals, when preparing business registration documents, must use this industry business code table for registration. A 4-digit industry code (level 4) is the code used for business registration.

2. Regulations on Industry Code 1399: Manufacture of other textiles not elsewhere classified

This group includes:

Activities related to textiles or textile products not elsewhere classified in industry 13 (Manufacture of textiles) or 14 (Manufacture of wearing apparel).

Specifically:

– Manufacture of non-woven fabrics, whether or not impregnated, coated, covered or laminated with plastic or rubber;

– Manufacture of non-woven fabrics where plastic or rubber forms the binding agent;

– Manufacture of narrow woven fabrics, including fabrics consisting of warp threads without weft threads, assembled by means of an adhesive;

– Manufacture of labels, banners, etc.;

– Manufacture of ornamental trimmings: braids, tassels, etc.;

– Manufacture of felt;

– Manufacture of tulle and other net fabrics, manufacture of lace in the piece, in strips or in motifs;

– Manufacture of fabrics impregnated, coated or covered with plastic;

– Manufacture of metallised yarn or rubber threads and cords covered with textile material, textile yarn or strips impregnated, coated, covered or sheathed with rubber or plastic;

– Contract embroidery on fabrics, embroidery of other garments (excluding apparel embroidery);

– Manufacture of high-tenacity artificial yarn for tire cord fabric;

– Manufacture of various treated or coated fabrics: tracing cloth, prepared canvas for painting, buckram and similar stiffened textile fabrics;

– Manufacture of other textile products: gas mantles for lamps;

– Manufacture of fire hoses, transmission or conveyor belts or belting (whether or not reinforced with metal or other material);

– Manufacture of bolting cloth;

– Manufacture of elastic fabrics for clothing;

– Manufacture of tracing cloth for drawing;

– Manufacture of shoelaces;

– Manufacture of tarpaulins, tents, sails, awnings, sunblinds, loose covers for cars (e.g., car tire covers), machinery or furniture;

– Manufacture of nets and window decorations, lace curtains.

Excludes:

– Manufacture of floor coverings is classified under group 13930 (Manufacture of carpets, blankets, mattresses);

– Manufacture of wadding and articles of wadding such as: powder-puffs, cotton wipes, sanitary towels, etc., is classified under group 17090 (Manufacture of other articles of paper and paperboard n.e.c.);

– Manufacture of rubberised textile transmission or conveyor belts or belting, where rubber is the main component, is classified under group 22190 (Manufacture of other rubber products);

– Manufacture of rubber sheets, plates or strips combined with textile fabric for reinforcing purposes is classified under group 22190 (Manufacture of other rubber products), group 2220 (Manufacture of plastics products);

– Manufacture of clothing from metalised yarn is classified under group 2599 (Manufacture of other fabricated metal products n.e.c.);

– Manufacture of knitted or crocheted garments, ornamental trimmings is classified under group 14300 (Manufacture of knitted and crocheted apparel).

3. Suggested way to record Industry Code 1399: Manufacture of other textiles not elsewhere classified

– When registering a company establishment, when notifying changes to business lines, or when requesting a change to a Business Registration Certificate, the enterprise founder or enterprise shall select the four-digit economic industry code from the Vietnam Standard Industrial Classification System to record the business line in the enterprise registration dossier. The business registration authority shall guide, cross-reference, and record the enterprise’s business lines in the National Enterprise Registration Database.

– For conditional business lines stipulated in other legal documents, the business line shall be recorded according to the provisions of those legal documents.
