1. What is a Business Industry Code?

Business Industry Code is a series of coded numbers representing a specific business industry. Organizations and individuals, when preparing business registration documents, must use this business industry code table for registration. The 4-digit industry code (level 4) is the code used for business registration.

2. Regulations on Industry Code 0620 Extraction of Natural Gas

This group includes:

– Production of natural gas;

– Extraction of liquefied natural gas;

– Separation of hydrocarbon liquids from gas;

– Desulphurization of gas;

– Extraction of methane from coal mines.

This group also includes:

– Extraction of liquid gas through liquefaction and pyrolysis;

– Extraction of coal gas.

Excludes:

– Service activities supporting the extraction of crude petroleum and natural gas are classified under group 09100 (Support activities for petroleum and natural gas extraction);

– Oil and gas exploration service activities are classified under group 09100 (Support activities for petroleum and natural gas extraction);

– Manufacture of liquefied gases from crude petroleum and recovery of liquefied gases already present in oil and gas extraction are classified under group 19200 (Manufacture of refined petroleum products; manufacture of fossil fuel products);

– Manufacture of industrial gases is classified under group 20111 (Manufacture of industrial gases);

– Pipeline transport of oil and natural gas is classified under group 49400 (Pipeline transport).

3. Suggested way to record Industry Code 0620 Extraction of Natural Gas

– When registering a business establishment, when notifying changes to business lines, or when requesting a conversion to a Business Registration Certificate, the business founder or enterprise selects the four-digit economic sector in the Vietnam Standard Industrial Classification to record the business line in the business registration application.
