1. What is a business industry code?

Business industry codes are a series of numbers encoded to represent a specific business industry. Organizations and individuals, when preparing business registration documents, must use this business industry code table for registration. A 4-digit industry code (level 4 code) is used for business registration.

The Vietnam Standard Industrial Classification System (VSIC), promulgated under Decision 36/2025/QD-TTg, has a hierarchical structure consisting of 5 levels, from general to detailed:

2. Regulations on Industry Code 0149 Other animal husbandry

This group includes:

– Rearing and breeding of domestic animals and other animals, including ornamental animals (excluding ornamental fish): dogs, cats, rabbits, reptiles, insects;

– Beekeeping, bee breeding and honey production;

– Silkworm rearing, silkworm cocoon production;

– Production of fur skins and reptile skins from animal husbandry activities.

Excludes:

– Rearing and taming of animals from farms classified under group 01620 (Animal husbandry service activities);

– Production of skins and furs of animals caught and trapped classified under group 01700 (Hunting, trapping and related service activities);

– Frog farms, crocodile farms, softshell turtle farms classified under group 03223 (Other aquaculture);

– Training of ornamental animals classified under group 914 (Activities of botanical and zoological gardens and nature reserves);

– Pet care, boarding, and training services classified under group 96909 (Other personal service activities not elsewhere classified);

– Activities of wild animal sanctuaries for the care of abandoned animals (pets) classified under group 96909 (Other personal service activities not elsewhere classified).

3. Suggested ways to record Industry Code 0149 Other animal husbandry

– When registering a business establishment, when notifying changes to business lines, or when requesting a change to a new Enterprise Registration Certificate, the enterprise founder or enterprise selects the four-digit economic sector in the Vietnam Standard Industrial Classification System to record the business lines in the enterprise registration application. The business registration authority guides, cross-references, and records the enterprise’s business lines in the National Enterprise Registration Database.

– For conditional business investment lines regulated in other legal documents, the business lines shall be recorded according to the lines specified in those legal documents.
