1. What is a business industry code?

Business industry code is a sequence of numbers encoded to represent a specific business industry. Organizations and individuals, when preparing business registration documents, must use this business industry code table for registration. The 4-digit (level 4) industry code is the code used for business registration.

The Vietnam Standard Industrial Classification (VSIC) system, issued under Decision 36/2025/QĐ-TTg, has a hierarchical structure with 5 levels, from general to detailed:

2. Regulations on Industry Code 1812 Services related to printing

This group includes: Pre-press, pre-production, bookbinding, and related services.

Includes:

– Typesetting, composition, photo-typesetting, data entry prior to printing in a format suitable for use in various printing processes and presentation in other visual media, including scanning and optical character recognition, electronic coloring;

– Preparation of data files for multimedia applications (printing on paper, CD-ROM, Internet);

– Print plate-making services including image arrangement and plate arrangement (for offset printing and letterpress printing);

– Engraving, acid etching on rollers for zinc etching;

– Processing of print plates: from computer to print plate (also includes plastic print plates);

– Preparation of print plates and dyeing to reduce printing and stamping work;

Excludes: Graphic design of visual content to convey information by print and other media is classified under group 74100 (Specialized design activities).

3. Suggestions for recording Industry Code 1812 Services related to printing

– When registering a new enterprise, when notifying changes to business lines, or when requesting a conversion to a new Enterprise Registration Certificate, the enterprise founder or enterprise shall select a four-digit economic sector from the Vietnam Standard Industrial Classification System to record the business line in the enterprise registration application. The business registration authority shall guide, cross-reference, and record the enterprise’s business lines in the National Business Registration Database.

– For conditional business lines stipulated in other legal documents, the business line shall be recorded according to the provisions in those legal documents.
