The ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (AANZFTA), signed on February 27, 2009 in Thailand, took effect on January 1, 2010. This agreement realizes the target of integrating 12 smaller markets into a larger community with a total population of about 620 million and a combined gross domestic product (GDP) of US$2.75 trillion.
